On March 14th, at the Sheraton Colonial in Lexington MA.  the New England Livery Association held its first Quarterly Meeting of the year.   The meeting was sponsored by Clark and White Lincoln Mercury.  Clark and White has been a NELA supporter for years.  The NELA thanks them for their continued support.
Over 75 members and guests were in attendance representing New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont.    Prior to the start of  the dinner meeting a cocktail networking reception was held.  Members benefited by talking with each other, vendors, and guests.
Following a buffet dinner presentations were made by  Barbara Harrington of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.  She shared her expertise on under age drinking and expressed her appreciation for the support of the NELA.
Following the presentation by MADD.   NELA Director Joe Clemente was joined by Brian Cristy, Director of the Transportation Division of the MA Dept. of Telecommunications and Energy, to make a presentation on the current USDOT rules and regulations.  With numerous recent interpretations the NELA found a need to clarify the current laws and enforcement.   Mr. Clemente and Mr. Cristy  in reviewed the current laws in detail, and provided the members in attendance with a detailed flow chart of the current rules and regulations along with links on where to find the on-line clarifications.   Following the meeting numerous members in attendance expressed their appreciation of the presentation.
The NELA looks forward to their upcoming events.   There will be a LOC Connecticut meeting on March 28th in Stamford, CT, sponsored by Stone Insurance, and featuring Charles Tenney.    Also look for details on our upcoming membership events.    June quarterly meetings,  July Chauffeur Appreciation Day, August Golf Tournament, and September NELA/LCT East Show.
